Researchers at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology programmed a Unitree G1 humanoid robot to play basketball with remarkable human-like skills, including dribbling, jump shots, and pivoting to avoid blocks. Using their "SkillMimic" system that learns from human-ball motion datasets, the team achieved what they call the first real-world basketball demonstration by a humanoid robot.
