That Doom-running, human brain cell-powered computer is headed for data centers

Cortical Labs, which recently gained attention for running Doom on its human brain cell-powered computer called CL1, is now partnering with DayOne to build biological data centers in Melbourne and Singapore using this technology. The facilities will house up to 120 and 1,000 CL1 units respectively, with each unit containing 200,000 lab-grown human neurons paired with silicon chips that consume less energy than conventional AI processors while offering unique adaptability for specialized computing tasks.
