Realta Fusion generates electricity directly from a fusion reaction, an apparent first

Wisconsin-based Realta Fusion became the first private company to harvest electricity directly from a fusion reaction, using it to power lightbulbs during a June 19 experiment. Unlike steam turbines — which are only 33% efficient — direct conversion reaches roughly 90% efficiency, making fusion plants far more profitable. On a commercial scale, this approach could boost total power output by 20–30%.
