OpenAI's next-generation o3 model will arrive early next year

OpenAI unveiled its next-generation AI model called o3, along with a smaller version called o3-mini. The new o3 model significantly outperforms its predecessor on various tests, including achieving 96.7% accuracy on the American Invitational Mathematics Examination. It also scored impressively on the challenging ARC-AGI benchmark, surpassing human performance. O3-mini will be released around late January, with o3 following shortly after. The new models offer improved performance and efficiency, with o3-mini featuring adjustable reasoning modes to balance speed and accuracy.
