NASA's Artemis laser system will send 4K video from the Moon at 260 Mbps

NASA's Artemis II mission will use a new laser communication system called O2O to transmit 4K video from the Moon at 260 megabits per second, a major upgrade from the radio-based black-and-white broadcasts of the Apollo era. The optical technology allows far more data transmission while using less spacecraft space and weight. Ground stations in New Mexico and California will receive high-definition footage captured by astronauts using advanced Nikon cameras, providing unprecedented real-time views of the lunar landscape.
