Google is officially dumping Assistant for Gemini

Google plans to phase out the classic Google Assistant on most mobile devices in favor of Gemini, its newer AI-powered assistant. The transition will occur over the coming months, with upgrades also planned for tablets, cars, and connected devices like headphones and watches. A new Gemini-powered experience is in development for home devices such as speakers, displays, and TVs. More details are expected to be announced in the near future, likely at Google I/O in May.
