Elon Musk's T-Mobile rival could be called Starlink Mobile as it offers space-based 5G data and voice network

SpaceX has trademarked "Starlink Mobile" and is developing a space-based 5G carrier service to compete with traditional cellular providers like T-Mobile and Verizon. The company is partnering with chipset makers to integrate satellite connectivity modems into future smartphones, enabling direct satellite internet access without cell tower coverage. SpaceX plans to launch 15,000 massive V3 satellites starting in 2026, offering up to 100 Mbps download speeds directly to phones by 2027.
