Bots now account for over half of all internet traffic

Bots now comprise 51% of internet traffic, the first time in 10 years automated programs have dominated web activity. This rise is mainly due to AI and large language models. Travel and retail sectors are heavily impacted, with bad bots accounting for 41% and 59% of their traffic respectively. Cybercriminals increasingly use AI to create malicious bots, now representing 37% of internet traffic, up from 32% in 2023. This trend creates major security challenges for organizations protecting digital assets.
