25x speed breakthrough in solid-state battery manufacturing achieved by US firm

QuantumScape has implemented a new manufacturing process called "Cobra" on its production line, increasing the speed of a critical heat-treatment step by 25 times while reducing space requirements. This breakthrough enables gigawatt-hour scale manufacturing of QuantumScape's solid-state lithium-metal battery cells. Now the standard for production on the QS-0 assembly line, Cobra supports the production of B-sample cells for automotive partners, bringing QuantumScape closer to commercial readiness and large-scale battery production.
