Time saved by AI offset by new work created, study suggests

Early analysis of Denmark's labor market in 2023-2024 reveals generative AI tools like ChatGPT have had minimal impact on wages and employment, despite rapid adoption. The study by economists from Chicago and Copenhagen universities examined 11 automation-vulnerable occupations across 25,000 workers and 7,000 workplaces. While AI chatbots saved time for most users, they also created new tasks, offsetting potential benefits and showing no significant economic effects yet.
