Moonvalley releases a video generator it claims was trained on licensed content

Moonvalley, a Los Angeles startup, has launched Marey, an AI video-generating model trained on openly licensed data. The model offers customization options like fine-grained camera and motion controls, generating HD clips up to 30 seconds long. Moonvalley claims Marey is lower risk legally than competitors, as it uses only owned or fully licensed source data. The company is implementing safeguards, including content filtering and allowing creators to request removal of their content from the model.
