Chinese research team may have cracked the problem of affordable, high-resolution AI videos

Researchers from Chinese universities developed Pyramid Flow, an open-source AI video generator creating high-resolution virtual imagery at 768p. The model generates videos in low-resolution stages before final output, reducing computing power needs. It can produce a five-second 384p clip in 56 seconds. The team released the model under the MIT License, along with sample videos and the 10-million-video training dataset.
