AI system learns to keep warehouse robot traffic running smoothly

MIT researchers partnered with Symbotic to develop an AI system that uses deep reinforcement learning to coordinate hundreds of warehouse robots and prevent traffic jams before they occur. The hybrid system achieved 25 percent greater throughput than traditional methods in simulations by intelligently prioritizing which robots should move first based on real-time congestion patterns.
