AI Helps Make Transplantable Brains

Scientists at Johns Hopkins are developing lab-grown brain organoids using stem cells converted from human hair, skin, and blood cells to help patients with traumatic brain injuries. These mini-brains include functioning blood vessels and can produce electrical signals for communication, making them potentially transplantable. The research addresses the major obstacle in brain treatment - the brain's inability to regenerate naturally. Phase one clinical trials could begin within five years.
