Zoox opens its Las Vegas robotaxi service to the public

Zoox launched its free robotaxi service in Las Vegas, open to anyone using their app. Their all-electric, autonomous vehicles operate without steering wheels or pedals. The service area covers the Strip, with pickups and drop-offs at five landmarks. While currently free, Zoox needs regulatory approval to charge for rides. A recent NHTSA exemption allows them to demonstrate their custom-built vehicles on public roads, but not yet commercialize the service.
