The National Videogame Museum acquired the MSF-1, the oldest known prototype of the mythical Nintendo PlayStation console that emerged from a brief 1990s collaboration between Sony and Nintendo. When Nintendo abandoned the partnership to work with Philips instead, Sony created the PlayStation independently, making this development kit a rare artifact of gaming history that likely represents the only surviving example of the failed hybrid console project.
