Switching from Safari to Chrome on iPhone is about to get easier than ever

Google is developing a new Safari import tool for Chrome on iPhone that streamlines switching browsers by allowing users to directly migrate browsing data on-device. The feature uses Safari's "Export Browsing Data" function to create a ZIP file, then guides users through importing passwords, credit cards, browsing history, and bookmarks into their Google Account. Currently being tested in Chrome 145 for TestFlight users, the tool includes security measures like prompting users to delete the temporary data file after import.
