Stumbling and Overheating, Most Humanoid Robots Fail to Finish Half Marathon in Beijing

A Beijing half marathon included 21 humanoid robots racing alongside 12,000 human runners, a first for such an event. Six robots finished, with Tiangong Ultra completing in 2 hours 40 minutes. Most robots encountered issues like falling, overheating, and battery problems, needing human help. The event demonstrated improved bipedal robot durability but also revealed their limitations. While showcasing progress in walking abilities, it underscored the need for advancement in practical applications beyond running or dancing.
