Samsung’s new app claims to alleviate motion sickness using sound

Samsung launched a free Android app called Hearapy that claims to reduce motion sickness symptoms using sound therapy. The app plays a 100Hz sine wave tone through headphones for 60 seconds to stimulate the inner ear's balance system, potentially providing up to two hours of relief from nausea. Based on Japanese research showing specific sound wavelengths can reduce discomfort while reading in moving vehicles, the treatment requires headphones capable of 80-85 decibel output for optimal effectiveness.
