Prototype mod brings native 1080P output to the Super Nintendo

Hardware engineer Stanislav Parhomovich has developed a prototype mod called the Super Switch HD that adds native 1080p HDMI output to original Super Nintendo consoles. The modification extracts video directly from the console's internal digital bus rather than converting analog signals, preserving image quality while upscaling to high-definition resolution. Unlike emulation or FPGA-based alternatives, this mod works within the original hardware and includes a dedicated buffer to handle the SNES's frequent resolution changes seamlessly on modern displays.
