Nike’s Robotic Shoe Gets Humans One Step Closer to Cyborg

Nike unveiled Project Amplify, a robotic shoe system featuring a calf-mounted battery pack and motor that mechanically assists each step by pulling up on the heel. The device targets casual runners who run 10-12 minute miles, aiming to help them run longer distances and improve fitness without intensive training. Developed with robotics company Dephy, the powered footwear represents a significant step toward cyborg-like human enhancement, with commercial release planned for 2028.
