Meta confirms it's building its own subsea cable

Meta is building "Project Waterworth," a massive 50,000 km subsea cable connecting five continents. This marks Meta's first solely-owned subsea infrastructure, touching the US, Brazil, India, and South Africa. The cable boasts 24 fiber pairs and innovative deep-sea routing up to 7,000 meters deep to avoid potential hazards.
