Instagram takes on Snapchat with new ‘Instagram Map’

Instagram has introduced Instagram Map, allowing users to share locations and discover local content from friends and creators. Unlike Snapchat's real-time map, Instagram's version updates only when the app is opened, with location sharing off by default. It displays stories, reels, and "Notes" from visited locations. Instagram is also adding a "Reposts" feature, similar to Twitter's retweet function. The Map feature launched in the US with global expansion coming soon.
