How Invisalign Became the World’s Biggest User of 3D Printers

Align Technology, the $12 billion company behind Invisalign clear aligners, is undertaking its biggest manufacturing overhaul in 29 years by transitioning from creating molds to directly 3D printing aligners. This shift could reduce costs and make treatment more affordable while cementing Align's position as the world's largest user of 3D printers, currently handling 2.6 million cases annually. The company has developed new resin materials and acquired Austrian company Cubicure to enable direct printing of about a million aligners daily.
