Google’s Atlas of the human genome could pave the way for new treatments

Google DeepMind has launched AlphaGenome Atlas, an AI-powered map that predicts how each of the roughly nine billion possible single-letter DNA changes could affect the human body at a molecular level. By helping researchers quickly identify which genetic mutations matter, Atlas could speed up disease research and lead to new treatments. The dataset is about 1 petabyte in size and is now available to researchers for free for noncommercial use.
