YouTube has launched AI-generated avatars for Shorts, allowing creators to insert photorealistic digital versions of themselves into video content through a "live selfie" process that captures both image and voice. Users over 18 can create these avatars using prompts to generate up to eight-second videos or remix existing content, with all AI-generated material featuring disclosure labels and watermarks.
