DoorDash unveils Dot, its autonomous robot built to deliver your food

DoorDash launched Dot, a bright red autonomous delivery robot that can drive on roads, bike lanes, and sidewalks at speeds up to 20 mph to deliver food and packages. The 350-pound robot stands under five feet tall and can carry up to 30 pounds of food, using cameras, radar, and lidar sensors for navigation. DoorDash is testing Dot with partners in Phoenix and plans to make it available to the area's 1.6 million residents by the end of 2025. This represents a major push by DoorDash to compete in autonomous vehicle technology and potentially reshape the food delivery market.
