DIY engineer 3D-prints new musical instrument and makes it open-source

YouTuber and inventor Brady Y. Lin created Stradex1, a compact violin-inspired electronic instrument that improves upon his earlier Arduino violin from four years ago. The 3D-printed instrument uses a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 microcontroller and features a linear potentiometer with over 32,000 values for smooth pitch control, plus four pressure-sensitive buttons that mimic violin strings and control volume. Powered by MIDI technology, the instrument can produce a wide range of sounds. Lin made the entire project open-source through GitHub, allowing other makers to build their own versions.
