Disney+ gets its own time-sucking vertical video section

Disney+ has launched Verts, a new vertical video section that lets users scroll through short clips from Disney's content library, similar to social media feeds. The feature helps viewers discover new shows and movies through bite-sized previews, with an algorithm tailoring recommendations to individual users. Disney previously added vertical video to ESPN and says the format has driven additional engagement, following a broader streaming industry trend that includes Netflix's similar pivot to short-form content.
