Atari’s Breakout is getting a side-scrolling reboot

Atari is modernizing Breakout with Breakout Beyond, featuring a rotated playing field, auto-scrolling, neon effects, power-ups, and local co-op. The game includes 72 levels, multiple balls, combos, and special blocks granting abilities. Releasing for PC, Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and Atari VCS later this year, it aims to attract both longtime fans and newcomers with its Tetris Effect-inspired update to the 1976 classic.
