Apple's App Store quietly turned into a gold mine for developers and businesses in the last 5 years

The US App Store ecosystem facilitated $406 billion in developer billings and sales in 2024, doubling since 2019. Over 90% of transactions required no commission to Apple. Small developers' earnings increased 76% from 2021 to 2024. The study showed $277 billion from physical goods and services, $75 billion from in-app advertising, and $53 billion from digital goods and services.
