Apple aims for “more personal and expressive” iOS 26 with new Liquid Glass design

iPadOS 26 brings major multitasking upgrades, including improved screen splitting, window resizing, and a new menu bar for quick access to app commands. The Files app receives a List view update, customizable folders, and default app settings for file types. Users can now open more windows simultaneously and run intensive background tasks. These changes enhance productivity on iPads. The update will release in fall, with developer testing ongoing and a public beta in July.
