Amazon’s new AI-powered vision tech tells drivers which packages to deliver

Amazon is introducing AI-powered package retrieval technology to its electric delivery vehicles. The Vision-Assisted Package Retrieval (VAPR) system uses visual and audio cues to help drivers quickly identify and prioritize packages for each stop. Set to launch on 1,000 electric Rivian vans by early 2025, the technology has already been tested in some markets. Early results show drivers can reduce delivery time from 2-5 minutes per stop to under one minute, potentially improving efficiency and eliminating the need for handheld devices.
