Amazon puts its drone deliveries on hold following two crash incidents

Amazon has paused commercial drone deliveries in Texas and Arizona after two MK30 drones crashed during testing in Oregon due to a software issue related to light rain. The company is updating the software and awaiting FAA approval to resume operations. Employees at drone sites will continue to be paid during the pause. Amazon had been delivering non-medical items via drones in Texas since 2022 and added prescription medications in 2023.
