An interactive-speed Linux computer made of only 3 8-pin chips
A tiny Linux computer was created using only three 8-pin chips, including a microcontroller, RAM, and USB interface. The device runs Debian Linux with 8MB RAM and can be easily assembled by hobbyists. It boots to a shell prompt and supports common tools like gcc and vim, though performance is limited to about 1.5 MHz effective CPU speed.
