World's first GPS-free quantum navigation trial succeeds at sea

Australian quantum company Q-CTRL successfully tested GPS-free navigation at sea in the Coral Sea, achieving ten times better accuracy than standard GPS. The system uses quantum sensors to detect tiny gravity field changes, making it impossible to jam or spoof, which is critical given nearly 978,000 GPS jamming incidents recorded in 2026.
