World’s first space-based quantum gravity sensor to map Earth’s shifting water and ice

NASA has awarded Infleqtion $20 million in new funding, bringing its total investment in the Quantum Gravity Gradiometer Pathfinder mission to $40 million. The mission aims to put the world's first quantum gravity sensor in space by 2030, using ultracold rubidium atoms to detect tiny shifts in Earth's gravitational field, potentially tracking groundwater changes, melting ice, and underground resources with greater precision than current satellites.
