Unitree's new R1 humanoid robot, priced at $5,900, stands 4 feet tall and weighs 55 lbs. It can perform acrobatics like cartwheels and handstands, and uses a Large Multimodal Model for complex tasks. With advanced features such as voice recognition and Wi-Fi 6, the R1 could serve as a household assistant or compete in robot tournaments. At a fraction of the cost of Unitree's previous model, it marks progress in making humanoid robotics more accessible.
