Scientists unveil a quantum battery that breaks the rules of conventional charging

Scientists at Australia's CSIRO have built a prototype quantum battery that charges faster as it grows larger, which is the opposite of how conventional batteries work. Using light-matter interactions inside a tiny optical chamber, the device achieves rapid charging through a process called superabsorption. Researchers have also successfully extracted an electrical current from it, and it works at room temperature, making it more practical than competing designs.
