Scientists create a spray-on powder that seals life-threatening wounds in seconds

Scientists at KAIST have developed a revolutionary spray-on powder called AGCL that can seal life-threatening wounds in one second by forming a hydrogel barrier upon contact with blood. The powder combines three natural polymers that react with calcium ions in blood to create ultrafast clotting while absorbing 725% of its weight in blood and maintaining strong adhesion under high-pressure bleeding. Animal tests showed the material outperformed existing hemostatic products, remained stable for two years, and could prove lifesaving for military medics and trauma surgeons.
