Quantum cat qubits stay stable for over an hour, smashing previous record

French quantum computing startup Alice & Bob has achieved a breakthrough in quantum stability by developing cat qubits that resist bit-flip errors for over an hour, smashing the previous record of seven minutes. This dramatic improvement could reduce the hardware needed for large-scale quantum computers by up to 200 times. The company's Galvanic Cat qubits achieved bit-flip times between 33 and 60 minutes, which is more than a million times longer than typical superconducting qubits that last only 25 milliseconds.
