NASA pushes space industry to use the ISS as a test ground for future stations

NASA launched a formal request for information to accelerate development of International Space Station replacements, proposing that companies build and test new commercial modules directly on the ISS before detaching them to operate independently. With the ISS set to retire in 2030 and no commercial stations yet operational, NASA aims to maintain low-Earth orbit access.
