DoorDash unveiled Dot, a bright red autonomous delivery robot that can navigate roads, sidewalks, and bike lanes at speeds up to 20 mph, making it the first commercial delivery robot with this capability. The company plans to use Dot for local deliveries of small items like toothpaste and diapers, starting in Arizona cities Tempe and Mesa, while claiming it will enhance rather than replace human delivery workers.
