Magnet 900,000 times stronger than Earth reveals directional mass particles

Researchers discovered semi-Dirac fermions, quasiparticles with directional mass properties, using a powerful hybrid magnet at Florida's National High Magnetic Field Lab. Found in a ZrSiS crystal cooled to near absolute zero, these particles exhibit unique behavior where electrons change mass depending on their movement direction.
