First known black hole star fueled by something stranger than reality discovered

SMRTR summary

Astronomers using the James Webb Space Telescope have discovered a strange new cosmic object called MoM-BH*-1: a black hole surrounded by a massive hydrogen gas cloud that makes it resemble a giant star. The black hole, roughly 100,000 times the mass of our Sun, produces 100 billion times more energy than any known star—far too much to be explained by nuclear fusion. The discovery may also solve the mystery behind early-universe "little red dots" previously spotted by Webb.
