Dead wind turbine blade resurrected as bridge by Dutch engineers with 3D-printing power

Dutch engineers have repurposed a decommissioned wind turbine blade to create an innovative 3D-printed modular bridge. The 39-foot structure in Almere can support loads up to 5 tons and incorporates recycled materials throughout. Custom 3D-printed components connect the curved blade to the road deck and railings. This project demonstrates the potential for reusing composite materials from wind turbines in new construction, promoting circular innovation and reducing the need for new raw materials. The design has generated interest for future installations.
