Czech nuclear plant to add 213-foot monster turbine generators with Mach 2 blades

Czechia's Temelín nuclear plant will be modernized with new 2,000-ton turbine generators from Doosan Škoda Power. The 213-foot generators, with blade tip speeds over twice the speed of sound, will be installed during 2029-2030 outages. This upgrade, the largest investment in Czech nuclear history, will increase output without raising emissions or land use. The deal includes a 15-year service commitment and continues Doosan Škoda's legacy, as they built the original Temelín turbines.
