Breakthrough fiber-optic system delivers 25,000-ft deployment in under an hour

WellSense successfully tested its FiberLine Intervention Conveyance System (FliCS) in the Permian Basin, deploying 25,000 feet of fiber-optic cable into a horizontal well in just 50 minutes. The jet-propelled, battery-powered system operates at 350 feet per minute, roughly ten times faster than conventional methods that average 35 feet per minute. FliCS enables real-time monitoring of temperature, strain, and acoustic data for well diagnostics and production optimization while significantly reducing deployment costs and operational complexity.
