Breakthrough EV battery tech achieves 0 to 80% charge in just 15 minutes

Researchers at the University of Waterloo have developed a lithium-ion battery design that allows electric vehicles to charge from 0 to 80% in just 15 minutes, compared to the current industry standard of nearly an hour. The new design can withstand up to 800 charging cycles, addressing "range anxiety" concerns. By fusing graphite particles in the anode, the technology improves electrical conductivity without altering traditional battery materials, facilitating integration into existing manufacturing processes.
