Anthropic’s Claude Science bets on workflow, not a new model, to win over scientists

Anthropic launched Claude Science, an AI workbench that brings scientific databases, analysis tools, and multi-agent workflows into one environment, letting researchers skip the hassle of juggling separate tools. It runs existing Claude models but adds specialized features like automated fact-checking, reproducible figures with embedded code, and connections to over 60 scientific databases. The launch puts Anthropic in direct competition with OpenAI's enterprise-gated GPT-Rosalind and Google DeepMind's proprietary AlphaFold-powered platform.
